‘I expect myself to be even more fearless’
“It’s going to be a happy birthday,” says Sushant Singh Rajput as he turns 32 today. However, this time around the actor won’t have any mandatory birthday parties and is glad to be spending the day doing what he loves the most – shooting. Talking about his plan, from the location of a film (in which he plays a dacoit) set in Chambal, Sushant says, “I am shooting for director Abhishek Chaubey’s next film. I had always waited for an opportunity to work with him and now I’m getting one, so I’m happy.” Recalling his fondest birthday memories, the actor adds, “There was a year, probably I was about 11 or 12, and everyone in my family including me, forgot that it was my birthday. Then all of a sudden in the evening we realised and celebrated it. It was epic! I love surprises.”
Many prefer setting goals and resolutions for themselves on their special day. The actor is also one of them, with a checklist to tick off. “Resolution is to travel more, get a flying license and learn surfing. But besides that, my expectation from myself is to be even more fearless, passionate and present in any kind of experience that I would have (in the future),” he says.
On work front, the actor will have several movie releases this year. About juggling projects and slipping into many characters in a short span, he says, “It’s just that I’ve started getting scripts that I absolutely like real soon, so I’ve signed them. Proper planning is being done so that I give proper time to preparations and also that we finish every project on time. Whenever I act in front of the camera, it’s the best feeling in the world.”
