JOIN THE PYJAMA PARTY, THE CELEB WAY
Fashion’s most convenient and comfortable trend, pyjama dressing/ luxurious loungewear is here to stay. The no-fuss look has stepped off the runway and found following among celebrities, who have worn it at major events. Sartorialists have officially embraced this just-rolled-out-of-bed, but ohso-chic look. Even actor Priyanka Chopra, who is styled by Cristina Ehrlich, has been spotted at back-to-back events, showing off her love for the look, including a preGrammy party. Talking about the trend, designer Gaurav Jai Gupta, says, “Pyjama dressing is trending globally, it is inspired by ’20s loungewear and is relaxed, hip and fun. It’ll make for a perfect look during the Indian summer.”
Designer Anand Bhushan, says, “Pyjama dressing is a great way to incorporate a casual look to more dressy events. Opt for luxurious fabrics, so the look doesn’t look frumpy.”
Although, the trend has been doing the round for over a year with likes of model Gigi Hadid and singer Selena Gomez championing it, styling it could be a big challenge. Gupta quips, “Experiment with this look, team up the anti-fit pants with a tailored long jacket, or go for a glazed pyjama in silk instead of cotton. Add colours to your look. Woven linen in a funky colour is what you need to pull it off in style.” Stylist Sahil Gulati, suggests, “Finish off your look with high pointy or kitten heels and nude makeup to make it sassier.”
