Badshah has evolved as an artist and he’s ready to share his “mature side” with his fans through his upcoming album. The rapper song writer, who released his first track, Kareja, from the album, titled ONE (Original Never Ends) last month, says, “This album will be unlike my previous albums or singles.” And how is that? “In a sense that this one will not have a lot of dance numbers. This album will show a mature side of me. There’s a lot of self introspection in it and my own experiences like how I deal with being a public figure. There won’t be one common emotion; it will have all kind of expressions,” says Badshah (real name: Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia).

Although the album was scheduled to release last year, the Delhi-born musician pushed it to 2018 after the birth of his daughter, Jessemy Grace Masih Singh. That gave him the chance to add more songs. “From an eight-track album, it’s now going to have 12-13 tracks.”

Badshah adds that this album — the release date of which is yet to be announced — is his way of “telling the world” that he’s not part of trends. “Maybe albums will make a comeback in future. Artists prefer releasing singles and that’s the trend, but I’m not following any trends. The idea of an album was a natural thing to do. I think my fans have also realised that, and they’ve evolved with me... With this album, they will see the real me. I have been completely honest about myself,” he says.
