It is a myth that actors throw tantrums: Parineeti

- Pooja Sharma pooja.sharma@htlive.com

Parineeti Chopra, who has completed seven years in the movie industry, is known for speaking her mind while expressing opinions. The actor has always stated that she is a “committed hedonist” whose only ambition is to live a happy and healthy life. “I will do that in whatever way I can,” says Parineeti.

Talking about the myths and assumptions that people have about actors in general, Parineeti says, “The biggest myth people have about actors is that they throw tantrums. People think actors are difficult [to handle] and have an attitude problem. Actually, that is not the case. Actors are humble pies. They have to put themselves out there and the public scrutinises them. We have to be that much careful about everything we do. Our lives are demanding and not the same as a commoner’s life. For instance, if you do something at a party and come up to me, and ask me to do that same thing on stage; I can’t do it because there are lakhs of people watching me. But when I refuse, people say I have an attitude problem.”

So, do people presume a lot of things about her too? “People assume things about every actor. When I say no to something, it’s misunderstood as me being difficult. But I am putting myself out there every day, for everything. And I wish that there was a way to make people understand, but unfortunately till you don’t act in films, you will not understand that,” says the Golmaal Again (2017) actor.
