Making notes is great for prepping for a role, says Shraddha Kapoor
It’s not often the case that Bollywood actors work in more than one project simultaneously. However, actor Shraddha Kapoor is currently juggling shooting for three different films at the same time. According to a source close to the actor, besides balancing the dates for her three projects, the actress is also balancing the continuity of her onscreen characters.
Shraddha has her work cut out: each of her films belongs to completely different genres, as Saaho is an action-thriller, Stree is a horror-comedy flick, and Batti Gul Meter Chalu, a comic drama. To keep track of all her characters, the source says the actor has been maintaining three different diaries. “Shraddha has been penning down her thoughts and maintaining a record of her days while on the sets of Saaho, Stree and Batti Gul Meter Chalu. All three films are different from one another, so the actress is living three parallel lives. When approaching a role, Shraddha adopts a mindset and daily routine that’s similar to that of her character. She is maintaining a first-person written record of her characters, and the diaries help her stay in touch with her onscreen self while serving as a reference to her last act,” the source says.
The source adds that this practice has helped Shraddha juggle the roles well. The actor now writes in her diary daily and pens her thoughts at the end of every day and between shots. Shraddha says, “Making notes is helpful for preparing for a character. I like to read and revisit the pointers given by my directors about how my character should be played.”
