Sonam di wedding in May? Here’s the low-down
Date, venue, guestlist... some details have been making headlines, and there’s more information pouring in. Of course, there’s endless speculation, too. Here’s all the dope on actor Sonam Kapoor’s to-be wedding to Delhi-based fashion entrepreneur Anand Ahuja that has been the talk of the town for some time now.
Is the D-Day April 29 or May 11? It’s still not confirmed, but one thing is for sure that by the end of May, Sonam will be married for sure.
And fans can hardly wait for the celebrations to begin. Another piece of news is doing the rounds, suggesting that “the wedding has already taken place in December in a temple”. What will happen now is “an elaborate social ceremony”.
It’s being planned to be a relatively low-key affair after the demise of Sonam’s aunt, actor Sridevi, in February this year.
“The destination was Switzerland earlier, but the family changed it to Mumbai after Srideviji’s death. The wedding is not in April. It’s in May,” says a source.
While Sonam is a Bollywood star and a global fashionista, her hubby-to-be Anand is the owner of a multi-brand sneaker boutique and the brain behind a famous apparel brand.
The Kapoors are trying to lock down a venue in Bandra or Juhu, and the invites will go out soon after that. We hear that Sonam’s family members have already applied for a seven-day leave to be part of the celebrations.
As for the guest list, the who’s who of the industry are expected to grace the occasion, from Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Karan Johar to Alia Bhatt, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Dhawan and Ranbir Kapoor... everyone! And guess what, filmmaker choreographer Farah Khan will reportedly make everyone dance to her steps as the official wedding choreographer.
