It goes without saying that thanks to the huge success of the Baahubali series, Prabhas’ popularity is no longer limited to only Telugu market. He has gone on to become a famous name nationally as well. But a few days back, the actor’s team was “pleasantly surprised” when they started getting back-to-back requests from colleges in Punjab about him attending Baisakhi celebrations.

“Yes, Prabhas – since the release and success of the Baahubali series – has had a huge fan base in Punjab as well. Off late, we have been receiving a lot of invitations for him from various Punjab colleges owing to the festival of Baisakhi,” says an insider, close to him. In fact, during the promotions of Baahubali 2 (2017), Prabhas, along with the film’s team, had visited Chandigarh University to celebrate the same festival.

At that time, Prabhas had said that “celebrating the festival of Baisakhi in Chandigarh was a joyous experience.” He had added: “It was interesting to interact with young minds at the university and soak in the vibe of the festival in the city.” Prabhas’ team, as well as the actor too, is “happy and surprised” when multiple colleges started getting in touch vis-à-vis the possibility of the actor’s visit to Punjab.

Prabhas, who is currently in the middle of the shooting of Saaho, is yet to take a call about visiting Punjab this year again. “They are trying to find out if they can squeeze out some time from the shooting schedule to make a quick trip to the state,” says the insider. The actor couldn’t be reached for a comment.
