The woman who sort of rewrote the plot for Indian television by bringing in her brand of entertainment is now herself the subject of a case study. Professor Sai Yayavaram from IIM Bangalore is writing the case study on Ekta Kapoor and her production house as part of the strategy course work for this year. This case study is based on how Ekta’s company has grown over the years and diversified across television, movies and now the web.

A source reveals, “IIM Bangalore has developed case studies like this with leading companies and this case will form a part of the course work. For this, the professor paid a visit to Mumbai to meet Ekta and spent some time with her to get her perspective on the company and how she became one of the most successful content creators across genres and across platforms.”

Ekta says, “It’s a huge honour to have the topmost management college of India working on a case study on my work. For us, the focus has always been the content. And more importantly, the decision as to which platform — television, big screen or digital — will the content work on. It has been a significant, insightful and enriching journey so far. I’ve learnt from my own experiences. It’s great to share these with young students who aspire to rule over the entertainment business in the future.”
