Thirty years back, when Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (QSQT, 1988) released, it turned a young Aamir Khan into an overnight star. In fact, such has been the film’s magic that it continues to fascinate movie lovers. Now, we have come to know that QSQT is set to be celebrated in a special manner today at a theatre in Lower Parel.

“Yes, the popular radio channel, Radio Nasha will celebrate 30 years of the film by having its special screening tonight at Matterden,” says an insider. What’s most interesting is that the film’s screening will also mark a big reunion of the cast and crew after three decades.

“The screening will see the presence of Aamir, Nuzhat Khan (Aamir’s sister), Mansoor Khan (director of QSQT and Aamir’s cousin), Raj Zutshi, Dalip Tahil, Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik and music director duo AnandMilind, among others. Everyone is eagerly looking forward to reliving the old days at the screening,” says the insider.

For Aamir, QSQT will “always be a special film”. The insider says, “After all, he began his career with that film. So, it’s going to bring back a lot of nostalgia for him as well as others. When Aamir was approached with the idea, he immediately agreed to be a part of the evening. He is also really keen to meet all the QSQT cast and crew members.” Apparently, before the screening, the cast and crew will also have a panel discussion, in which they’ll share their memories and making of the landmark film.

Aamir couldn’t be reached for a comment.
