Arjun’s star turn with Ronaldo!

One wouldn’t be wrong to say that Arjun Kapoor is living a ‘soccer dream’ of sorts. After all, he got to meet and hang out with Portuguese football star, Cristiano Ronaldo, in Madrid, Spain, on Monday. For the uninitiated, the actor has been roped in by the Spanish football league, La Liga, in a special tie-up.

A source close to the organisers reveals, “Yes, it’s true that Arjun met Ronaldo (he plays for the Spanish football club, Real Madrid). The actor is keenly interested in the sport, and he spoke to Ronaldo about Real Madrid’s season so far and also wished him all the luck for the Champions League final match against Liverpool in Kiev, Ukraine. They also had an in-depth conversation about world football in general and also about Real’s chances of winning in the finals.”

Apparently, Arjun and Ronaldo also spoke about the upcoming FIFA World Cup, which starts on June 14 in Russia. The source adds, “Arjun has followed Ronaldo’s career and exploits very closely, so he was very excited to meet him and discuss the nitty-gritties of world football, especially since the actor loves the game and is knowledgeable about it, too.”

Apparently, during their conversation, the Mubarakan (2017) actor also invited the footballer to India. “Arjun explained to Ronaldo that he has an incredible fan following in India. The actor urged Ronaldo to visit India and see for himself the immense love that Indian fans have for him. Ronaldo, on his part, told Arjun that he would love to come down to India,” says the source. Despite repeated attempts, Arjun, who is currently preparing for the release of his film Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, couldn’t be reached for a comment.
