I knew I am not your typical heroine, says Rytasha Rathore
Rytasha Rathore might not fit the norms of size or beauty set and maintained by the entertainment industry, but that doesn’t stop her from doing what she enjoys — acting. That’s all she really cares about.
The 25-year-old actor hails from a theatre background and has trained under seasoned actors such as Vinay Pathak, Rajat Kapoor and Faezeh Jalali. “When I decided to become an actor, I knew I am not your typical heroine but it never made me think that I can’t be an actor. It never featured as a challenge in my head and I think that’s what inspires people, to see someone who says, ‘just roll with it.” I wanted to be an actor and I became one,” says Rytasha.
For her, being a good person holds more relevance than having the socially-accepted figure. “I never gave so much importance to the physical aspect. We are much more than the outer appeal. I know so many good looking people who are absolute a ****** s, so it doesn’t matter what you look like, you’ve just got to be a nice person,” says Rytasha, who plays a Haryanvni girl on a daily show on television.
She also starred in a short film about the struggles of a working mother. The video went viral and touched many hearts. More projects are in the pipeline. “[But] I can’t talk about anything till it happens. With God’s grace things are moving at a fine speed and I would thank my fans for that,” says the actor.
