‘When things don’t go as planned, there’s something better’

Shilpa Shinde became a household name in 2015 when she started playing the character of bhabhi in a sitcom. Later, she went on to compete in the reality show Bigg Boss and won in it too. The actor is now part of Sunil Grover’s comedy show.

The actor shares that she was thrilled to meet a former Indian cricketer on the sets of her show. “My dad would have loved to see me sharing screen space with Kapil Dev. He is a humble and wonderful person. He told me that he hadn’t seen me in Bigg Boss but he used to watch my previous sitcom. I felt good that he knew about me (laughs). I met Ajay Jadeja too, and he said ‘you have such a huge fan following that I put one photo with you on social media and people went crazy’. I told him that he was embarrassing me. It is God’s grace that I have fans who love me so much.”

Shilpa has time and again thanked her fans. “I want to be a part of [my fans’] lives. After Bigg Boss, many girls told me that they, too, went through a bad phase in life and have learnt a lot from me. I tell them, ‘when you’re going through a bad phase in your life, instead of feeling low think that maybe it’s the best thing that happened to you’. When things don’t go as planned, there’s something better around the corner.”
