Working out is not just something I have to do for my body; it is more for my mind. It makes me think better, helps me focus. When I’m sweating from a tough exercise, I always feel I can take on the world. Which is why I do it at every chance I get. YAMI GAUTAM ACTOR

Actor Yami Gautam recently declared herself to be a fitness enthusiast with her pole-dancing video, but don’t think she does that sort of thing only for fun — exercise is serious business for her, and rain or shine, busy or not, she finds time for it.

Yami, who’s shooting for Batti Gul Meter Chalu in Mumbai, has found a gym close to the set. She usually hits the gym directly once she wraps up for the day, or in between shots. Her gym session lasts 50-60 minutes.

Think that’s tiring, so close to the shoot? Not for Yami. She says, “Working out is not just something I have to do for my body; it is more for my mind. It makes me think better, helps me focus. When I’m sweating from a tough exercise, I always feel I can take on the world. Which is why I do it at every chance I get. Fitness and a healthy lifestyle is the order of the day, especially with such hectic schedules,” says the actor, who also stars in Uri. alongside Vicky Kaushal.

Yami shares that she prefers keeping it organic and doesn’t use any supplements.

She’s channelling all this toughness into her role as a lawyer in Batti Gul Meter Chalu, co-starring Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.
