Paltan is my ode to India: JP Dutta

-

After films like Border (1997) and LoC Kargil (2003), JP Dutta is all set to complete his war trilogy with his upcoming film, Paltan, based on the Indo-China battle of 1967. Coming back to the screen after a long hiatus, the filmmaker will showcase the untold story of one of India’s biggest battlefield victories.

While Border and LoC Kargil featured combat stories involving Indian and Pakistani forces, this war drama is based on the clashes that raged between Indian and Chinese soldiers at Nathu La and Cho La, on the Sikkim border.

Speaking about the film, director JP Dutta says, “Paltan is my ode to India, as I complete my war trilogy after Border and LoC Kargil. This film showcases the brotherhood that our soldiers have among themselves and shows how our Indian soldiers more than often go beyond their call of duty when it comes to serving our motherland.”

The film has an ensemble cast of Jackie Shroff, Arjun Rampal, Sonu Sood, Gurmeet Choudhary, Harshvardhan Rane, Siddhant Kapoor, and Luv Sinha.

Shariq Patel, CEO, Zee Studios, says, “We’re happy to join hands with JP Dutta on Paltan, as he completes his trilogy. It’s an honour for Zee Studios to portray the story of Indian soldiers, who bravely fought during the 1967 battle.”

Produced by Zee Studios and JP Films, Paltan, written and directed by JP Dutta, releases on September 7, 2018. The trailer releases today.
