It is the best gift that I have ever got: Gurmeet
Gurmeet Choudhary who is awaiting the release of his next film Paltan, recently got a very special gift from his father. The actor, who plays a soldier in the film, was overwhelmed when his father, an ex-Army officer gifted him his uniform. His father was impressed with the film’s trailer that released recently and decided to gift him something memorable.
A source close to the actor says, “Gurmeet’s father, who is a retired army officer, hoped that Gurmeet would also join the Army. But when he decided to be an actor, his father wasn’t too happy with his decision. After a few initial hiccups, his father got over his disappointment as Gurmeet gained popularity on television. But it was a defining moment for him to see his son don the uniform on screen and when he saw the trailer, in an emotional moment, he gifted him his uniform.”
Gurmeet, of course was thrilled to bits. He says, “Having grown up in the Army background, I have seen my father in uniform. So, I know the importance of it. When my dad saw Paltan’s trailer and saw me in the Army uniform, he got very emotional as he always wanted me to join the Army. He felt very proud that I was playing an Army officer and he immediately couriered his own uniform as a token of love remembrance and asked me to keep it. It’s the best gift I have ever got and it’s the most special moment of my life. I have kept in my room so that I can see it every day and work hard so that I never let him down.”
