JLo shows love for Shantanu and his crew
Desi Hoppers are currently competing in a dance reality show, which is cojudged by Jennifer Lopez
Actor-dancer Shantanu Maheshwari is on cloud nine. After all, American singer-actor Jennifer Lopez has praised his dance group Desi Hoppers’ performance. Shantanu and his troupe recently performed at an international realityshow, that was being shot in Los Angeles, USA.
“It feels great when your hard work is appreciated around the globe. Jennifer Lopez is the judge of our show and we are the solo Indian team participating in it. We appear in the second season, which is currently being aired in the US,” Shantanu says.
Talking about what JLo said, Shantanu shares, “She praised our dance style. We were the top scorers in our division, and were performing in the quarter-finals in the dual round, in which we battled it out [with other teams]. She also appreciated how we mixed and matched both classical and contemporary forms. She could see the cultural elements we incorporated.”
Her praises weren’t just limited to the show, JLo even took to social media to say nice things about them. She tweeted, “Love me some #desihoppers!! #indiaisinthehouse”. “We all know how rich India’s culture is, and she spoke about it.
She also felt proud that we were putting India on the world map in terms of dancing,” he says.
So, did he get a chance to meet her in person (after the show)? “No, there was no chance or time, because her schedules are very tight. It isn’t very easy to get in touch with her personally,” shares Shantanu, who is currently hosting a kids reality show.
