If it’s allwhite, it’s got to be right, say BTown divas

White has always been a timeless, foolproof pick for fashion lovers. But when it comes to rocking the tricky white on white look, trust our Bollywood fashionistas to do it like a boss. Actors Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma, Kajol and Mandana Karimi recently showed us how white-on-white can be a total winner. The trend also popped up on the runway, with designers Amit Aggarwal, Abraham & Thakore, and Rajesh Pratap Singh presenting their imaginative take on white on white at the recently concluded Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2018. Style gurus say one can have a lot of fun experimenting with the trend. “From white pantsuits to white denim and shirt, the all-white look was seen at the Milan, Paris and London fashion weeks. It’s also the hottest street style of the season,” says designer Rina Dhaka. Wondering if this is a monsoon friendly trend? “Isn’t fashion all about breaking rules?,” asks Dhaka. Intelligent styling takes you a long way. “The tone of your whites will do trick. When layering, use the same tones of white. Mixing off-white with white is not a good idea. Also pick quality fabric such as linen, viscose, silk and satin when wearing white,” says designer Nachiket Barve. The right accessories and makeup makes the look shine. Stylist Jason Arland says, “Micro or coloured sunnies can instantly amp up the all white look. Opt for neater hairdos, and keep makeup subtle, with a pop of red on the lips.”
