No show planned with Kapil, says Bharti on the rumours

Recently, there were reports that comedian Kapil Sharma is returning to television with a new show starring comedians Krushna Abhishek and Bharti Singh. The makers reportedly didn’t want to burden Kapil with an entire show, so the idea was to bring the trio back together on one platform, after their stint in Comedy Circus.

But a baffled Bharti says that there’s no such show in the making. “Krushna and I aren’t working on any show together,” she says. “There were talks about doing a show with Krushna, but nothing materialised. Then, I was away shooting for Khatron Ke Khiladi in Argentina for six weeks and wasn’t in touch with anyone. I don’t understand where such news originates. If I were doing such a show, I’d happily announce it. Krushna and I haven’t spoken in weeks as he is busy with his films and TV show. In fact, I’m going to be hosting India’s Got Talent for the same channel. I won’t have time to do anything else.”

This year, Kapil has been in the news for dealing with alcoholism, weight issues and depression, and has been out of action since his last show Family Time with Kapil Sharma was pulled off the air abruptly a few months ago.

Bharti says that she holds Kapil in high regard. “Rulaane wale duniya mein bahut hain, hasaane wale bahut kam hai. When Kapil comes back on TV, it will be his show and he won’t be ‘joining’ us. I’ll happily be a part of his show. People love Kapil a lot and they are ready to forgive him for whatever he did. I hope this news comes true and Kapil calls me,” she says.

Meanwhile, during a recent visit to Amritsar to promote a Punjabi film, Kapil told the media that he’d soon be back with a new season of Family Time with Kapil Sharma.

Krushna and Kapil were unavailable for comments.
