Why Diana likes going on movie promotional tours
Actors have often spoken about how promoting films at times becomes tiring for them, and how many of them don’t really enjoy the whole process of touring different cities back to back. However, actor Diana Penty sees a brighter side to this tiring task — an opportunity for the cast and crew to bond.
“It’s funny that I get to know people, particularly my co-actors, better while [on film] promotional tours. When on the set, we are mostly thinking about the film, getting our looks, lines, and scenes right; we don’t get a lot of time to interact. But while promoting a film, we are more relaxed; we travel together and get a lot of time with one another. That is something that I completely enjoy about [these tours],” smiles Diana.
Citing an example of how she got to know Sonakshi Sinha better while being on a promotional tour for her recent film, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, the actor shares, “We did not have many scenes together in the film. So, we interacted more during the promotions than [we did] on the set.” About any common subjects that they bonded over, she shares, “We kept talking about life, work and discussed what we want to eat or travel. I knew what answers she was giving and she knew what I was saying during my press interactions... She would bring a lot of energy to the set and also during our travel together for promotions.”
During the promotion of the film, another amazing thing happened for Diana — meeting Madhuri Dixit Nene. “I’ve grown up watching her. She is eternally beautiful and graceful in the ways she conducts herself, as an actor and also as a dancer,” adds the actor, who is currently deciding on her next project.
