Nidhhi is ready to experiment with different roles

- Shreya Mukherjee

Actor Nidhhi Agerwal, who made a glamorous debut in the Tiger Shroff-starrer Munna Michael (2017), is always on the lookout for something that she has never tried before. So, when the actor was offered the Telugu film, Mr Majnu, where she is expected to sport a de-glam look, Niddhi was more than excited. The other reason was that it stars Akhil Akkineni, Nagarjuna’s son.

“My character in the film appealed to me in more ways than one. The story is good and the film is not entirely in the commercial space. In Munna Michael, my character was a dancer and supposed to be glamorous. But here [in Mr Majnu], she does not wear any makeup. She’s more like a regular person that you meet every day. I feel such roles help the audience connect more [with the actor]. It has helped me grow as an actor,” she says.

“I think versatility is very important. I love dancing around the trees, but at the same time I also want to challenge myself with different kinds of roles that are more in the realistic space,” adds Nidhhi, who has recently finished shooting for the Telugu film Savyasachi, where she is paired opposite Naga Chaitanya, Akhil’s halfbrother.

Nidhhi is also passionate about dancing, which is why she enjoyed being a part of Munna Michael. Ask if she would like to do another dance film, Nidhhi is quick to reply, “I’d love to! I’m a trained ballet dancer and have been learning it for eight years now. I know little bit of Kathak, too. Whenever I get time from work I practice dancing.”
