HARSH DOESN'T KNOW I'M FASTING FOR HIM: BHARTI SINGH

Actor-comedian Bharti Singh, who tied the knot with her writer boyfriend, Harsh Limbachiyaa last year in December, is super excited to be celebrating her first Karva Chauth, today. But guess what? She hasn’t told Harsh that she is fasting for him!

“Harsh is not aware that I’m fasting” says Bharti, before adding, “He is not in favour of fasting and does not want me to observe the same for Karva Chauth, more so because of my health condition, as I recently underwent ligament operation and am currently on medicines.”

She goes on to add, “But as they say, love is above everything and it gives you a lot of strength, both mentally and physically. So, I was determined to observe the festival. I believe in this festival, which is being followed for years. And I’m fasting without telling Harsh because otherwise he would have convinced me not to fast. He doesn’t remember it’s Karva Chauth today, so I am going to surprise him.”

Does this mean Bharti won’t get any special gift on this occasion? “Harsh enjoys showering me with gifts anyway. Sometime back, he got me two luxury handbags saying, ‘Bharti, you’ve done so well for yourself as a female comedian; so, you need to look better and be stylish.’ Main to phir bhi wahi gaonwali hoon (laughs). Whenever I tell him I want to buy anything, he gives me his card, and tells me to buy whatever I want,” she quips.

Talking about the festival where women — mostly in northern India, fast for their husband’s long life, Bharti, at her candid best, laughs off saying, “The moon prefers hiding behind the clouds on this particular day.”

Asked about the special plans for the day, Bharti shares, “Phir se dulhan banne ka mauka milega… hathon mein aur pairon mein mehendi lagaungi... (I will once again get to dress up like a bride, and apply henna on my hands and feet). I’ve also planned a closeknit get together and invited few friends over. We will play some games to kill time before the moon decides to show up (laughs). Then of course,there will be special meal for everyone.”

Harsh loves me a lot but doesn’t show off. He is more like a friend. I can’t thank my stars enough for having him as my soulmate. BHARTI SINGH COMEDIAN
