Fans were clearly waiting with bated breath for just this moment — the likes skyrocketed within seconds

Bollywood couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh ended their fans’ agony as they shared photos from their twin wedding ceremonies — one according to Konkani-Brahmin traditions; and another Anand Karaj ritual — that took place at Italy’s Lake Como on November 14-15.

The wedding was a very private affair with only 40 guests in attendance, which included family and close friends. The tight security arrangement around the venue included bouncers on boats to keep intruders away.

Deepika and Ranveer both shared the pictures and captioned the photos of the two with the heart emoji. For the Konkani-style ceremony, the bride wore a red and gold Kanjeevaram sari with heavy neck pieces, earrings and mathapatti, while Ranveer was in a traditional mundu.

Guests arrived in motor boats at the venue and walked all the way to the terrace where a mandap was set up, adorned with white roses.

Surrounded by family and close friends, the star couple exchanged vows. The bride’s side was in traditional attire, and so were even the Italian staff serving the guests.

For their second ceremony, both the actors opted for red. The outfits of the bride and the groom — from head to toe, on both days — were designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. And as expected, within seconds, the post broke the Internet — there were some 2 lakh likes within the first 2-3 minutes, and at the time of going to press, the number was 50+ lakh likes on Instagram.

Though the media were not present at either ceremony, some television reports spoke of a long list of hit Hindi film numbers being played at the wedding venue.

According to reports, the couple will fly back to India on November 18 and host a reception in Bengaluru on November 21. The two will then go to Mumbai and host two receptions on November 28 and December 1 for industry friends and media.
