I am there for Akshara and she knows that: Tanuj Virwani
Actor Akshara Haasan’s private photos were leaked online, and after her complaint in Mumbai on Sunday, cops have been investigating it. Now, actor Tanuj Virwani’s name has cropped up, as he was in a relationship with her.
Tanuj, the son of veteran actor Rati Agnihotri, says that he’s willing to do all he can to help Akshara “get closure”. They dated from 2013 to 2017 and exchanged many photos, like any couple. He says, “The leaked photos included some that we exchanged, but I had deleted all photos after our break-up. I don’t have them anymore. I’ve been in touch with Akshara since our break-up and we didn’t have an ugly break-up, so we’ve remained friends. I contacted her recently and we spoke about the leaked photos, too. I completely feel for her.”
The Inside Edge actor wishes to help Akshara, “so that she can move on in her life”. Tanuj says, “We can’t undo what has happened, but we can try to find the person who is responsible. I’m there for her and she knows that. What she has told the police is that the only other person who had access to these photos is me. That’s absolutely right. There’s no point in going to the cops and not telling the truth. I’m not holding that against her. I don’t think she has mentioned it anywhere that she thinks I have anything to do with the leaked photos.”
While Tanuj has not been questioned yet, he says he’s ready to fully co-operate with the cops. He adds, “I have a clean heart, as I know that I haven’t done anything. I also feel awful because I believe pictures of such nature have no right to be out in the public domain. She comes from an illustrious family, and for any girl, to have such photos out online is sad and disturbing. I, too, [faced] some amount of controversy, regarding my parents’ personal life. That, too, was quite upsetting. I sympathise with [Akshara]. It can be demeaning and awful, especially for a girl. I hope the cops catch the person responsible.”
