Varun Dhawan set for a ‘talk’ with dad, David!
They’ve already teamed up successfully in films such as Main Tera Hero (2014) and Judwaa 2 (2017). Now, the Dhawans — filmmaker David and actor son Varun — are set to collaborate on a completely different platform: the 49th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, conducted by the I&B Ministry, the Directorate of Film Festivals, and the Government of Goa. “Yes, Varun and David sir are set to appear together in a talk session that aims to give an insight into the families of the diverse film industry. They’re very excited to share their views from the same platform. They’ll talk about the evolution of Hindi cinema as well as their take on comedy films besides their sensibilities as creative minds,” says an insider, close to them.
When contacted, Varun, who’s in the middle of shooting an elaborate action sequence for Kalank, tells us, “This is the first time that dad and I would be sharing the stage. I’m looking forward to having a conversation with him. From the time my dad started his career, there has been a lot of evolution when it comes to the movies. So, a conversation with him around that topic will be interesting. We’d also be talking about (Varun’s film) October, which will be screened at IFFI.”
Other IFFI sessions will have Boney Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor; Venkatesh, Suresh Babu and Rana Daggubati; Anil Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor; and Sriram Raghavan with Sridhar Raghavan.
Work-wise, talks are rife that Varun and David will do a new film together, next year. They are also set to launch their production house.
