Trailer of Radhika Apte-starrer Bombairiya releases today

The unique combination of comedy and mystery hasn’t been explored very often in B-town. While the audience has always enjoyed comedy in Indian cinema, mixing genres has been an interesting development in Bollywood, of late, and audiences seem to be appreciating the new trend. And now, Bombairiya, starring Radhika Apte, promises to deliver on the new genre of comedy mystery.

Along with Radhika, the movie stars Siddhanth Kapoor, Akshay Oberoi, Adil Hussain, Shilpa Shukla and Ravi Kishan. A host of actors playing cameos will also be seen in the film. Bombairiya is a film that promises to capture Mumbai in all its glory, and will showcase the constant struggle that people living in the city face.

For India-born British writer-producer Michael Ward, Bombairiya is the kind of film that “will hit you out of nowhere.” His wife Pia Sukanya, who makes her directorial debut with the film, says, “Bombairiya evokes the angst we feel while trying to survive the moods of an unpredictable city, within all its mess and chaos. And I always marvel at how hope survives in this place.”

As the makers unveil the trailer today, they hope to whet the appetite of cinema-goers with a glimpse of this very different genre.

Bombairiya, presented by Kreo Films FZ and Beautiful Bay Entertainment, is slated to release on January 11, 2019.
