Actor Raima Sen, who has featured in several Hindi films, has a strong hold in the Bengali film industry. The actor, who has been working in movies for almost 20 years, shares that there have been instances in her career when she has faced sexual harassment, too.

“To not have faced it at all would be a lie. But I had managed the situation well right there and then when it happened,” says Raima, granddaughter of late actor Suchitra Sen, adding, “Nothing drastic has happened to me. Only minor issues not worth talking about.”

The actor also welcomes the wave of women calling out sexual offenders and exposing them in front of the world. “I am glad women are coming out and speaking about the issue. It takes a lot of guts. Yes, every woman should speak up, be it from any industry, not just films,” Raima says.

The actor also has a piece of advice to those who have been in a sticky situation. “I think you should face the situation right there and then and deal with it right...Put an end to the matter,” says the actor, who has been part of Bollywood films such as Parineeta (2005), Honeymoon Travels Pvt.Ltd (2007) and Bollywood Diaries (2016).

The actor will soon be seen in the second season of the popular Bengali web series, Hello, and she says she is positive that the audience will give her a good response.

“Hello 1 was a super success and we have made the second season better in very possible way. I am sure the audience will love it. This (Hello 1) was the first web series that I had done, and it was great and the response that I had received had been so good that they (creators) came up with the second season on the demand,” she says.
