THERE’S SACRIFICE IN EVERYTHING YOU DO, SAYS ABHISHEK

Abhishek Bachchan on achieving success, facing failure, and the need to always look for greener pastures

-

In his over a decade-longjourney in Bollywood, actor Abhishek Bachchan has made a name for himself with a filmography that consists of interesting movies. But the son of Bollywood actors Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan says that stardom comes with a price tag and adds that there is sacrifice in everything that one does.

Abhishek explains, “To gain something, you have to give up something and the law of nature is as simple as that. But it’s fine and good.”

The actor made his debut in 2000 with the movie Refugee and went on to deliver hit movies such as Yuva (2004), Bunty Aur Babli (2005), Dhoom (2004), Guru (2007), Happy New Year (2014) and Sarkar (2005). But he has also faced quite a bit of failure in films such as Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon, Kuch Naa Kaho (both 2003), Run and Naach (both 2004).

Ask him if he is content with his filmography, and he says, “No. I don’t think any actor is happy with their filmography. The tragedy of a filmography is that these are the things that have happened in the past. You need to look towards newer horizons, you need to look forward...You need to continue to strive and better yourself. So, I don’t think any actor is satisfied. The day an actor is satisfied is kind of a death of the creativity within you.”

Abhishek, who was last seen in Manmarziyaan, says that he is looking forward to what is going to happen next. “I am very hungry... I am very excited to see what more can be done, how to explore new horizons.”

You need to look towards newer horizons, you need to look forward...You need to continue to strive and better yourself.
