Irrfan’s final health report due this month end, excited to get back to shooting, says source
Back in India, Irrfan is all keyed up for Hindi Medium 2. The actor will be getting his final health report by February end, which will also determine when the film can go on floors.
Irrfan has been diagnosed with cancer and has been undergoing treatment since April 2018.
“Irrfan is eagerly waiting for the health report due end of this month. He is hopeful that things work out in his favour. He is currently busy with reading sessions,” says a source.
According to the source, a part of the sequel to the 2017 film will be shot in London as well. Irrfan’s look is also being discussed right now as his daughter in the film will now be a grown-up girl.
The female lead opposite Irrfan is yet to be finalised, though speculations were rife that Kareena Kapoor Khan has been considered. Pakistani actor Saba Qamar, who played Irrfan’s wife in Hindi Medium, won’t be returning in the sequel due to the ban on Pakistani artists in Bollywood.
Meanwhile, there were reports that Irrfan might work with his Piku (2015) director Shoojit Sircar again. In fact, the latter caught up with the 52-year-old actor in London.
However, the source tells us, “Irrfan needs more time to recover. His treatment will continue. Given his health condition, he does not want to commit to any project other than the Hindi Medium sequel at the moment. So, he might or might not do this film (Sircar’s film).”
