Would love to do music videos again, says Nimrat
Recalling their good ol’ days from the set of National Awardwinning film Mandi (1983), veteran actor Shabana Azmi posted this picture where she’s seen with actors Soni Razdan and the late Smita Patil. Pointing out the resemblance between Soni and her daughter Alia Bhatt, Shabana commented: “#Alia Bhatt looks exactly like her mother #Soni Razdan . Here is proof. Still from #Mandi”
Music composer, Padma Shri Vanraj Bhatia, who won the National Film Award for Best Music for Govind Nihalani’s TV series Tamas (1988), said that he has no savings in his bank. The 92-year-old is known for his work in the art cinema circuit of the ’70s and ’80s. “I’ve no money, not one rupee left in my bank account,” Bhatia told Mumbai Mirror, as he battles old-age ailments such as memory lapses and knee pain. His only company now is his domestic help, who shared that Bhatia hasn’t sought medical consultation
in a long time. Also, the music composer is forced to sell his household items such as imported crockery, in order to sustain.
From Ankur (1974) to Sardari Begum (1996), Bhatia was a favourite composer of art house titan Shyam Benegal. A recipient of Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1989, Bhatia studied western classical music at Royal Academy of Music, London. His work includes films such as Kundan Shah’s Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Aparna Sen’s 36 Chowringhee Lane, and Prakash Jha’s Hip Hip Hooray. Actor Jacqueline Fernandez recently posted this glam pic on Instagram, and fans couldn’t just stop complimenting!
