Television actor Rithvik Dhanjani is all set for his Bollywood debut with the news of him being cast in a remake of Satte Pe Satta (1982) already doing the rounds. Speculation is that the film, to be directed, will star Hrithik Roshan and Anushka Sharma.

However, ask him about how is he prepping for it, and he gives a smart reply: “When the time is right, the world will know. A little bit of patience is all we need. Currently, there are a lot of things going on, which I can’t speak of.”

The actor is busy shooting back-to-back for his films and web project and is aiming to make the year 2020 the biggest turning point in the career. “2020 is going to be an extreme year for me professionally. I hope for it to start with a bang and for it to be great. I want to be part of cinema whose stories haven’t been told, stories that I can resonate with, stories I would want to see as a cinema lover and that bring about a change in the lives of people. I’m hoping 2020 is the year where these dreams get fulfilled,”says Rithvik, who turned 31 on November 5.

The actor has also shown his mettle as a great host on stage in reality shows, and the audience has loved his impromptu acts. Rithvik hasn’t been seen on a daily soap after his popular TV show Pavitra Rishta, which ended in 2014. Explaining the reason, the actor says, “I haven’t come across a script that I could resonate with. Having said that, I am grateful to TV and I’m proud to be one of the actors who is making a breakthrough from television to films.”

Rithvik has also become very particular about his choice of work. He wants to “be able to share stories that reach a wider audience”.

He says,“I want to deliver performances that I’ve always wanted to. I want to be a part of something simple as well as something meaningful, something that viewers can relate to as well as take back from.”

I want to be part of cinema whose stories haven’t been told, stories that I can resonate with, stories I would want to see as a cinema lover. I’m hoping 2020 is the year where these dreams get fulfilled.
