Aashka feels it’s time for her second innings

From acting on the small screen to promoting pole fitness and now taking a leap as a businesswoman, actor Aashka Goradia Goble is leaving no stone unturned to add new feathers to her hat.

“I’ve been acting for almost 18 years now, and it’s time for me to play my second innings. So, my focus is on establishing my business. Since the age of 16, I always thought of creating something out of my passion and share with more women,” says Aashka, who’s expanding her beauty brand.

Those who follow Aashka on social media would have surely stumbled upon her pole fitness videos. While the 34year-old has already inspired many, she aims to share the knowledge of this form of fitness with more people. “I never thought of starting a school to teach pole fitness but I’d definitely like to design some programme around it, to help people get on the pole and not treat it as a prop to be used at fancy places. For me, it’s such a beautiful way to stay fit and I’ve seen so many women doing this and feeling so strong and powerful,” she shares.

One might assume that the actor, who has to her credit shows such as Kkusum, Laagi Tujhse Lagan, Baal Veer and Naagin, would take a break from work to pursue her other passions. However, she clarifies nothing of that sort will happen.

“But yes, I’ll be more choosy about my shows, now. If something big and interesting comes up, I’ll definitely take it up but right now, my priority is to expand my makeup business,” she continues, “For the first time, I’m in a position where I can choose what I want to do as an actor, which wasn’t the case earlier. I was taking everything that was coming my way, but now, I’ve come to a place where the money wouldn’t probably excite me but a great script would. And I’ve already accomplished a lot as an actor, so now, I’ll only take up shows that I strongly believe in, something that’s more substantial and meaningful.”
