After over 25 years in the industry and with more than 110 films to his credit, actor Suniel Shetty is still going strong and is all set to rock 2020 with some interesting work. Last year, he made his Kannada debut with Paliwaan. He was recently seen alongside Rajinikanth in Tamil film Darbar, stars in the upcoming Malayalam movie Marakkar, and has shot for an international film as well.

“I have shot for the film Fraudsters, directed by American-Chinese filmmaker Jeffrey Chin. It is based on a true story — a million-dollar scam by a brother-sister duo from Mumbai,” says Suniel, who has worked in films such as Gopi Kishan (1994), Border (1997), Hera Pheri, Dhadkan (both 2000), and more.

The actor points out that it wasn’t a conscious decision to take on international projects. “It’s not that I’m looking towards Hollywood for work. If a good subject and a good film come my way, and if I fit the part, I’ll definitely take it up,” Suniel continues, “Even in the digital space, when I was getting a lot of offers, I was clear that I wanted to be on the right platform, so I waited for the right time and opportunity.”

It’s not that I’m looking towards Hollywood for work. If a good subject and a good film come my way, and if I fit the part, I’ll definitely take it up... Even in the digital space, when I was getting a lot of offers, I was clear that I wanted to be on the right platform...

he is also “in talks for a franchise film and some three-four Hindi movies”. He is also going to dabble in web projects.

“There are some interesting offers and I’m seriously looking at expanding my work. It is an exciting time as the [web] platform has opened doors for everyone. New actors and directors are emerging every year and those who were struggling to get a good break in films are now doing so well in the digital space. What more could one ask for?” Suniel signs off.
