-

Actor Neha Dhupia admits that while there are days when trolls don’t affect her, there are moments when they hit hard. She asserts that nobody likes to be trolled for no fault and waking up to

“a hurl of insults and personal jabs”. Recently, Dhupia was trolled for her comment which seemed like she was defending a girl for cheating in a relationship, when she reprimanded a male contestant on a reality TV show for slapping the girl who allegedly cheated on him. The actor had to release a statement saying she had been misinterpreted. “Nobody likes to be trolled and there is no shying away from the fact that for no fault of yours, you wake up to a hurl of insults and then they not only take you down, but they want to take personal jabs at you on your family when you’re not doing that...will I always stand against domestic violence? Yes, I will,” she asserts.

How much does trolling, then, bother her? “Sometimes it does, but sometimes you become so thick skinned that it doesn’t matter,” she says.

Recently, auditions for a TV show Dhupia is part of moved online for the first time. Ask her if this is the new normal and she says, “People staying indoors, working from home is something which may become close to the new normal, but to say people will not go back on set is unrealistic.”

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his family members were placed under home quarantine after they travelled to Budhana, Uttar Pradesh, from Mumbai, the police said.

Siddiqui, along with his family members, reached his home town on Saturday after availing necessary permission from the authorities in Maharashtra in order to travel, informed Superintendent of Police (Rural) Nepal Singh.

He added that the actor and his family members were tested for Covid-19 and their reports came negative. However, they have been placed under mandatory 14-day home quarantine.

Siddiqui’s brother Ayazuddin Siddiqui said the actor came to his ancestral home to celebrate Eid with his family. He, however, added that the actor will not meet anyone outside of the family in the wake of the situation arising out of the pandemic.
