Being minimal is the way of life, says Amruta

- Anjali Shetty

To someone who has always worked round the clock, last year brought a whole new perspective. Actor Amruta Khanvilkar describes it as the time she took to sit back, relax, and just be herself. “I was working non-stop for two years (20182019). I travelled to eight or nine countries. So when, as a nation, we were compelled to sit at home, I took it all in a very positive sense. I read a lot, watched a lot of interesting videos, films, and used social media to its best. Of course, I did not indulge in any news,” says the Malang (2020) actor. Khanvilkar adds that it also helped her spend more time with parents and husband. “I have always been a family person. But the past months brought so much perspective in my life. I realised that I need to find my happiness and not run after what is not important. I realised what and who really matters. Himanshoo and mom too bonded a lot over food and so much more.”

Her husband, actor Himanshoo, and she went minimalist. “Honestly, we realised how being content and minimal is the way of life. It was a complete lifestyle change for us. We decluttered our homes, and even got rid of cars that were just lying in our garage. This time has definitely made me calmer and more positive.”

Another interesting and loving addition to her life was the birth of her niece, Nurvi. “We found out in February 2020, that Aditi (sister, who lives in Dubai) was pregnant. Initially we were worried about how she would manage. But she is just amazing. I absolutely love little girls, and I was overwhelmed to welcome my niece. I hope that when I become a mother, I can be just like her!”

The Raazi (2018) actor says that in the future she will be extremely particular about the work she chooses. “I want to be involved in projects from scratch. I enjoy bringing people together and working in a group. So, I am looking forward to being a part of a project right from the decisions, scripting, etc.”

She adds that from now on, health is going to be a priority. “I have realised that being sane and happy can work wonders for you. So, this is going to be the focus.”

Actor Tabu took to Instagram stories to inform her followers that her account has been hacked. “Hack alert. My account is hacked. Please do not click on any link from my account,” she wrote in a story.

She is the latest celebrity in Bollywood to suffer a cyber attack, after Esha Deol, Farah Khan Kunder, Vikrant Massey and Renee Sen.
