To ‘I’ll be more comfortable resume work once vaccines start showing results’
Even after vaccination, people are contracting the virus, especially after taking the first dose... I’m not completely excited to go all out there,” says Neha Bhasin, as the country prepares for a full-fledged vaccination drive from May 1. The singer, who is currently in Goa, fears resuming work until the situation improves.
“I had been shooting for the past couple of months without a vaccine. I did go to a couple of studios for recording as well. But I’ll be more comfortable to resume work once vaccines start showing results. I hope that we can build antibodies against Covid-19 soon. Right now, I’m worried and anxious about my family contracting the virus,” she shares.
At a time when the country’s health infrastructure is crumbling, Bhasin hopes that the government launches initiatives to help those in need. “I hope that provisions are made for more beds and oxygen tanks in hospitals. Our medical infrastructure needs attention, assistance and money right now. We need to come up with a plan of living with Covid-19, and we, as citizens, should comply and help to not spread the virus. I hope we become more responsible since we now know that we have to live with this for a while,” Bhasin, 38, says.
The Jag Ghoomeya (Sultan; 2016) singer had been shooting for a reality show when the announcement to stall all shoots came about and she admits that she misses live gigs. “I haven’t been on stage for the past one year but a massive void of performing live for the audience was being fulfilled by the show. The only shows that have happened are wedding shows, and I don’t particularly do too many of them. I miss meeting my band, rehearsing and hitting the road with them,” she signs off.
