As Covid-19 casts its spell over us, we have adopted an easy-going new attitude towards food, emphasising on healthy options, be it smoothies or salads. And, the latest favourite is ramen bowls. They are easy to make and healthy, too.

“Ramen bowls are trending because of the obvious comfort and intense flavours. They can be prepared to balance protein, carbohydrates and fibre. Be it vegetarian or non-vegetarian, one can create a satisfying bowl with minimal effort,” says chef Nishant Choubey.

Wonder Woman 1984 (2020) star Gal Gadot has detailed her experience of working with filmmaker Joss Whedon in the film Justice League (2017), stating that the director threatened to make her “career miserable”.

The Israeli actor, who essays the role of superhero Wonder Woman in the film franchise, said Whedon told her to “just be pretty” and say her lines.

“He kind of threatened my career and said if I did something, he would make my career miserable, and I just took care of it instead,” Gadot told Israeli news outlet, N12.

The clash reportedly happened when the 36-yearold actor pushed back on some new dialogue Whedon had written. During the exchange, he also allegedly disparaged Wonder Woman (2017) director Patty Jenkins.

“Innovative bowls of ramen in salty broth, with a combination of various toppings and distinct flavours, often coupled with sides of grilled meats or seafood, continue to gain popularity. With vegetarian options too available, there are many takers of this healthy bowl,” says chef Rakesh Sethi.

Recently, many shared their variations of this dish on social media. “If you are having ramen, fresh vegetables, chicken etc. can be added. You can always go for ramen noodles made with whole grains, millets, etc. There are some gluten-free varieties of ramen. Also, go for low-sodium noodles. If you can avoid taste enhancers, replace them with project in the wake of a family tragedy.

In an interview with The Los Angeles Times last year, Gadot had hinted at her troubling experience with Whedon, saying it was resolved privately. “I had my own experience with (him), which wasn’t the best one, but I took care of it there and when it happened. I took it to the higher-ups and they took care of it. But I’m happy for Ray to go up and say his truth,” she had said.

Whedon’s alleged toxic behaviour towards the cast of TV shows, Angel (1999 - 2004) and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1999 - 2003) and the film, Justice League, first came to light in the year 2020. Actor Ray Fisher, who played the role of Cyborg in the superhero ensemble film, had claimed in a tweet that Whedon was “abusive” and “unprofessional” on the sets of their your healthy spice mix at home,” advices nutritionist Preety Tyagi.

If you are vegan, you can try miso ramen bowl, comprising plant-based broth with scallions, shiitake, bok choy, snow peas and tofu, infused with mirin. 2017 film. The parent company behind the project launched an investigation into the claims made by Fisher, and in December, issued a statement saying it had completed investigation and taken “remedial action” in the matter.

Everything has been thrown into a disarray, with the second wave of Covid-19 gripping India. The entertainment sector, which was just beginning to get back on its feet since late last year, is again seeing work get stalled.

Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt says the business continued to get impacted even after things opened up around October last year, when theatres reopened after seven months.

“We are still reeling under the impact. We only got one proper release, Roohi (in February). Even Sanjay Gupta’s Mumbai Saga (that released in mid-March) got hit badly by the lockdown. I’m sure he suffered losses on a film that’s complete,” notes Bhatt, adding that the situation is grim everywhere. “But, when you look around and see people dying, you realise your problems are very little compared to what others are going through,” he opines.

While the 52year-old admits that there is trouble around, he insists this is the time to come together to fight the virus: “Our theatres are in a lot of trouble, but the nation is in bigger trouble. Now is not the time to talk about personal losses. This is the time for us to get together as a nation.”

Bhatt had been shooting for a project, Anamika, with actor Sunny Leone, but work came to a halt as a lockdown was announced in Maharashtra, last month.

“I was almost done with the shoot when work was again stopped. We did rapid antigen tests every day and an RT-PCR every seven days. Luckily, I had another project, (recently released web series) Bisaat: Khel Shatranj Ka, which I had finished in the interim period where we had less cases,” he says.

Ask what’s keeping him occupied in this lockdown, and Bhatt reveals he is writing a lot.

“My boss Mahesh Bhatt, an integral part of my company’s creative process, is on my case when I’m not doing enough. He is a taskmaster. Thankfully, writing is something you can do when you’re in a lockdown,” he
