‘NO LONGER CONSIDERED JUST A PRETTY FACE’

- Titas Chowdhury

I remember watching (TV shows) Remix, Just Mohabbat and Hip Hip Hurray. They’ve had a lasting impact in my life. The youth of today shouldn’t be denied of that impact.

Radhika Seth made her acting debut last year with the web series Call My Agent Bollywood. While the show may have got a mixed response, the actor-content creator says she’s grateful about how it has helped change people’s perception about her.

“People no longer consider me to be just a pretty face,” Seth tells us, adding, “They actually have a point of reference while considering me for more work... I have always been extremely vocal about my dreams of becoming an actor. Somewhere along the way, I think the audience was able to connect with my passion and work.”

Another aspect she’s glad about is how people know her as an actor today: “My journey was the opposite of most content creators’. I wanted to act years before I got into the digital game. Being considered as an actor and being taken more seriously for work is all I could ask for.”

So, how did content creation happen then? “I have wanted to be an actor since I was young. I moved from New Delhi to Mumbai seven years ago to act. Funnily, social media was something that I stumbled upon along the way of acting. Bollywood is and will always be the love of my life and my ultimate goal,” the 24year-old says.

However, juggling acting and content creation, she asserts, is no cakewalk. “It has been challenging, but I do believe acting and content creation are co-related, and growing in one aspect helps the other. It is all about the need of the moment,” she signs off.
