Expedite tender process for auction of sand ghats, CM directs officials
RANCHI: Chief minister Raghubar Das directed deputy commissioners and district mining officers on Monday to expedite the tender process for the auction of sand ghats.
“Delay in tender proceedings is hampering state’s development work like laying roads and constructing buildings,” Das said at meeting with the department of mines and geology.
“Sand is being imported from other states or lifted illegally due to delay in tendering. Both are against the state’s interest.”
Department officials informed Das that tenders have been finalised for 48 sand ghats in Jamshedpur, Dhanbad and Saraikela.
The chief minister asked officials to give details of the mining plan.
“Of ficials should hold a meeting every week to review applications for forest clearance. If there is any objection or something is lacking in the application, applicants should get information,” the CM said.
Das also reviewed the status of crushers units. Out of 2851 crusher units, 1076 have remained closed for want of no-objection certificates from the Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board. The board chairman informed Das that the appli- cation procedure has been made online from this month.
Das said, “Online system is a good initiative which brings transparency but disposal of applications should not be delayed on one pretext or the other.”
