GOVT EMPLOYEE ACCUSES SENIOR OF MOLESTATION
RANCHI: A woman employee working in the district statistical office on Saturday accused district statistical officer (DSO) of molesting and misbehaving with her for the past six months. The victim who is a junior regional researcher at Ranchi said that the DSO had also warned her of starting departmental proceedings against her.
In her complaint, the woman alleged that the DSO called her in his office and started molesting her. He warned her of starting department proceeding against her and also making an adverse remark in her confidential report.
She said that she had informed the Ranchi deputy commissioner about the DSO’s behaviour but a fair investigation was not done.
The DSO, Dr Sanjay Kumar Singh, has denied the allegations. He said that the woman made the allegation after he wrote that she does not work in office. He alleged that on Saturday some people came to his office and threatened to cut off his hand.
“I could somehow escape from the office. A group had also come to my office on Friday and threatened me. The woman is livid after I wrote her CR. I do not know how she knew about the report which is confidential,” he said.
The DSO said he has asked police for protection or else he would not be able to work
Police have registered a case under section 354 and 504 of Indian penal code against the DSO in this connection. “The police are investigating the allegation,” said Kuldip Dwivedi, Ranchi SSP.
