Temple prohibits pouring water on Shiva Linga
GHATSILA: The temple management committee of the famous Chitreswar temple in East Singhbhum has banned the practice of pouring water directly on the Shiva Linga to prevent it from damage.
The Shiva Linga at the temple, considered one of the largest ones in India, has developed a crack at the base and the temple administration said it cannot risk further damage to it.
According to the new instruction, water should be poured into a special basin that is connected to the temple with a pipe that leads to the top of the Linga.
