GOVT PLUGS LOOPHOLE THAT HAD LET OFFICERS DEAL WITH FIRMS EMPLOYING THEIR FAMILY
The Centre this week plugged a loophole that could be used by officers to circumvent the prohibition on dealing with companies where his/her family members are employed. The Centre expanded the definition of the officer’s family, making it clear that people related to them by marriage or blood would be treated as family even if they were not dependent on the officer. In its original form, relatives, including the officer’s children, were not covered under this restriction if they claimed that the son or daughter was not a dependent of the officer.
