Das visits HP, CISCO headquarters in US
RANCHI: Chief Minister Raghubar Das and his team on Wednesday visited Hewlett Packard Enterprise and CISCO in San Francisco, USA.
Jharkhand had recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the company in the areas of tele-education (virtual classrooms) and IT-enabled primary healthcare.
At HP’s World Wide Corporate headquarters Palo Alto, the delegation met the top company officials and told them about the investment potential of the state. Amip Shah from HP also gave a presentation on Smart Cities and HP’s strategy.
Das said, “Jharkhand is the backbone of Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Make in India’ agenda, as it holds 40% of India’s natural mineral wealth and is on track to become the country’s power hub by 2019.”
The team from Jharkhand reached CISCO’s San Jose headquarters to explore further collaboration potential with the company.
Recently, the state had signed an MoU with CISCO to impart networking training to students of engineering colleges, polytechnics and degree-level institutions. Students will be trained through the Cisco Networking Academy Programme to increase the availability of skilled networking resources from within the state.
The foreign tours are targeted at bringing ensuring maximum possible global participation in Jharkhand’s maiden investors’ summit ‘Momentum Jharkhand’ on February 16 and 17 in Ranchi.
This will be a first-of-its kind summit in Jharkhand which will witness participation from business heads, academicians and thought leaders from around the globe.
