J’khand tally touches 2,585 with 60 new cases

A total of 57 Covid-19 patients recovered in the state on Thursday, as per officials

EAST SINGHBHUM RECORDED MAXIMUM NINE CASES

RANCHI: Jharkhand on Thursday registered 60 new cases of the novel coronaviru­s from 16 districts, which took the state tally to 2,585, officials said.

Of the total cases, 582 are active , while 1,988 people have already been discharged from the hospitals, according to state Covid-19 bulletin released on Thursday evening.

Besides, as many as 15 people have died of Covid-19 till date in the state, while 57 people recovered from the disease on Thursday.

East Singhbhum district recorded maximum nine Covid-19 cases on Thursday.The district officials said four of them were migrant workers.

A total of eight persons were found to be Covid-19 positive in Koderma and Palamu districts , while seven positive cases were reported from Chatra and Giridih districts each.

In each of Ranchi, Dhanbad, Hazaribag and Latehar districts, three persons were found infected with Covid-19 .

Khunti and Sahebganj recorded two positive cases each. One person each was found infected with the disease in Deoghar, Garhwa, Godda, Lohardaga and Ramgarh.

Meanwhile, chief minister Hemant Soren has expressed happiness over the rising recovery rate of Jharkhand.

Soren, in a tweet, said the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients in the state has climbed to about 77% and the rate of new infections has come down significan­tly in the last 20 days.

He credited this success to Corona warriors and people of the state.

The CM said that even though the infection rate has come down in the state, it is increasing in the country, therefore people have to be more vigilant.
