2 docs quarantine­d, establishm­ents sealed

DHANBAD: Two doctors in Deoghar district were sent into quarantine and their clinic, a diagnostic centre and a path lab was sealed on Saturday after a mother and her son getting treatment from the doctors tested Covid-19 positive, officials said.

Deoghar SDM Vishal Sagar said action was taken on the report of Mohanpur community health centre (CHC).

A resident of Chakarma village and his mother, who is a cook at Kasturba Gandhi High School in Mohanpur, tested positive.

Both had received treatment from Deoghar-based private doctors for different ailments before their samples were tested at the CHC.

“On the basis of their contract tracing, Dr D Tiwary and Dr CDL Das have been sent to quarantine as they had treated the duo”, said Sagar.

near SBI Bazar branch were also sealed.

The SDM said the lab staff and employees of Deoghar pathology and diagnostic centre have also been quarantine­d and operators of both the centres have also been directed to not open the establishm­ents till further order.

In case of violation, action would be initiated against them under Disaster Management Act 2005 and IPC Section 188, he said.

The administra­tion has directed Incident Commanders of Mohanpur, Deoghar sadar block developmen­t officers and the concerned police station officer in-charge to keep a watch on the clinic, path lab and diagnostic centre
