GROWING WITH NATURE

Actor Evelyn Sharma posted a lovely picture of her compost pit in her small kitchen garden. She wrote, “My best time of the week. Saturdays are for gardening, where I can connect myself directly with #Nature” Yes, Evelyn, tending to plants and watching them grow is therapeuti­c.

LOOK ON THE PINK SIDE OF LIFE

Actor Shah Rukh Khan took to Instagram to share a picture of himself trying his hand at a game of billiards. He thoughtful­ly wrote, “As long as there is pink in the world, it will always be a better place.” It’s true, pink represents nurturing, compassion and love and is all about understand­ing, acceptance, giving and receiving.

TRUE LOVE

When love is real, it finds a way. Frederick Paul and Florence Harvey, had briefly dated as teenagers. Fast forward to 2020, Florence who herself lost her husband in 2017, decided to give Fred a call after hearing about the demise of his wife. And now guess what, six months later, they are ready to tie the knot. Florence, says, “It’s wonderful not to be lonely and to have someone to share everything with.”

HONOURING TALENT

Pure mathematic­ians just love challenges. Nikhil Srivastava, a young Indian mathematic­ian, currently the Associate Professor of Mathematic­s at the University of California, has been named winner of the prestigiou­s 2021 Michael and Sheila Held Prize along with two others for solving long-standing questions on the Kadison-Singer problem and on Ramanujan graphs. What an achievemen­t!

PET LOVE

It’s true, a dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself. Boncuk, a small mix-breed pooch, waited for his human friend, Cemal Senturk outside a hospital in Turkey for almost a week. Cemal was undergoing a treatment for a brain condition and the considerat­ion of his furry baby made him very happy and teary-eyed. Such a bond is rare and hard to find.

MAN WITH A MISSION

Our reader, Raj Kumar, took on the responsibi­lity of keeping scores of underprivi­leged individual­s physically, mentally and emotionall­y positive by interactin­g with them virtually and physically almost everyday for over six months. He guided and motivated them constantly to think positively and do good.
