HEALTH DEPT TO CONDUCT AUDIT OF FACILITIES AT ALL 24 SADAR HOSPITALS
DHANBAD: With the aim of streamlining health services, the state health department’s principal secretary has ordered immediate audit of available facilities at all Sadar (district) hospitals across Jharkhand.
This is the first time that the state government has ordered an assessment of Sadar hospitals simultaneously in all districts.
Eight teams under special, joint and deputy secretaries level government officials have been formed in this regard to conduct physical assessment of infrastructure, human resources and requirement at Sadar hospitals in all 24 districts.
In a notification issued on Tuesday, all eight senior officials have been allotted three districts each for conducting the audit. The officials have been directed to start the assessment with immediate effect and submit the report by February 28.
A copy of the notification has also been sent to deputy commissioners (DC) and civil surgeons (CS) of all districts, with a direction to cooperate with the team in the assessment.
A senior officer of the state health department on Wednesday said health secretary KK Soan has planned to make all Sadar hospitals model health centres for streamlining health services in the first phase. “Therefore, before implementing the ambitious health project, he has ordered to assess deficiencies at Sadar hospitals, ” the official said, requesting anonymity.Most Sadar hospitals in the state were in poor condition and reeling under acute shortage of doctors and nursing staff, the official said, adding that the audit would help in identifying the hospitals’ requirements.
