JAMSHEDPUR: PROPOSAL TO SHIFT THREE GOVT SCHOOLS TO CBSE
The East Singhbhum district administration has sent detailed infrastructure report and proposal to the state government for shifting three government schools to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), officials said on Monday.
“We have sent a detailed report of infrastructure of three selected government schools to the state education department with detailed proposal for CBSE affiliation. Now, a CBSE inspection team will come for on-thespot verification of the said schools before giving its no objection certificate (NOC) for the same. This is a preliminary exercise and it will take about a year or two for full shifting of these schools to CBSE board,” SF Tigga, Jamshedpur district education officer (DEO), said.
The three selected schools are BPM Plus-2 High School, Sakchi Girls School and Jamshedpur Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls (KGRGS).
“The students currently studying in these three schools will clear classes 10 and 12 under JAC, while fresh admissions at entry level will be taken under CBSE. BPM school currently teaches classes 9 to 12, Sakchi Girls School classes 9 and 10, while KGRGS has Class 9-12 facilities. With the shifting, BPM and KGRGS will teach from classes 1 to 12, while Sakchi Girls School will teach classes 1 to 10,” added Tigga.
The medium of teaching in the three schools will be in English. “All teachers will need to have English background henceforth,” said Tigga.
