17-YEAR-OLD STABBED TO DEATH OVER ₹100 IN BIHAR

SITAMARHI: A 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death over a monetary dispute of ₹100 at Mandalnaga­r colony under the town police station of the district on Monday evening, said an official on Tuesday.

The incident took place around 6pm, when the deceased was returning home after playing cricket.

Sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), Sitamarhi, Ramakant Upadhyay said, “We got the informatio­n that the victim and one Chhotu Kumar were involved in a heated argument, following which Chhotu stabbed the minor in the chest and fled away from the spot.

The body was sent to Sadar hospital for autopsy.

“A first informatio­n report (FIR) was lodged on the basis of the statement given by victim’s father, who has accused Chhotu, his parents and a brother among others of killing his son,” said Upadhyay.

“Chhotu and his family members are absconding since the incident, however, two named accused have been taken into custody,” he said.

Meanwhile, deceased’s father said that his son had taken ₹100 from Chhotu a couple of days ago.

“Chhotu was asking my son to return the money, who had promised to repay the same in a day or two,” his father said.

“But, Chhotu with the help of his family members and a few others murdered my son on Monday evening,” he told the police.
