Ex-DGP’s wife moves HC to save land sale deed
RANCHI: After BJP’s Godda parliamentarian Nishi Kant Dubey’s wife Anamika Gautam, now former DGP DK Pandey’s wife Poonam Pandey has knocked the Jharkhand high court’s door over land sale deed cancellation proceedings initiated against her by the Ranchi district administration.
Pandey’s senior lawyer RS Mazumdar said, “The high court would hear the case next week.”
It was alleged that around 50.9 decimal of government land (Gairmajurwa) was “illegally” settled in favour of Poonam Pandey at Chama Mauja under Ranchi’s Kanke circle office.
Poonam Pandey has sought judicial order to restrain Kanke circle officer (CO) from carrying out proceedings to cancel registration of the said land sale deed.
Pandey stated that the mutation --entry of landholder name in a register -- of the said land plot was duly completed in her favour and the government didn’t move an appeal against this.
Now, the district administration has initiated a proceeding for the cancellation of registration of the said land sale deed.
The controversy surrounding a vast chunk of Gairmajurwa land (government land) being developed into a police housing colony came to the fore in 2019.
The said government land had reportedly been sold out “illegally” to several police officials including Pandey by one Amod Kumar.
It has also been detected that
the mutation of land plots purchased by the police officials and other persons were also done illegally.
Responding to a complaint, Ranchi deputy commissioner (DC), in 2019, constituted a twomember panel to enquire into the alleged murky land deal related to Khata number 87 at Chama Mauja under Kanke police station.
The panel, in its report, had pointed out that the nature of the land purchased by police officials and other private persons came under the category of Gairmajurwa land, ownership of which was vested with the government. Sale and purchase of such land is completely illegal, the panel said.
Following the report, the DC had ordered cancellation of settlement of Gairmajurwa land in favour of private persons.
Last week, Godda MP Nishi Kant Dubey’s wife Anamika Gautam too moved the HC challenging a notice issued by Deoghar deputy commissioner for cancellation of the land sale deed executed in her favour. Staying the DC’s proceedings, the court had sought the government’s reply.
