RANCHI: A day after the ruling JMM .blamed the Centre of non-cooperation amid the pandemic, main opposition in the state Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday hit back saying that people of Jharkhand were suffering due to the state government’s mismanagement and the Centre was providing “all possible help”.

The reaction came in wake of repeated allegation by ruling parties that the central government was not cooperating and fulfilling the demands and rightful claims of the state government in terms of Covid-19 emergency drugs and equipment. “The Centre is providing all possible help. It’s the mismanagement on the part of the state government due to which people are suffering and are dying due to lack of treatment. The JMM said the state got only 29,000 vials Remdesivir injection. But, the fact is that the state received 79,000 vials. The JMM should issue a white paper on the help provided by the Centre till now,” said Deepak Prakash, state BJP chief and Rajya Sabha member.

The BJP leader alleged that middlemen were engaged in black marketing of Remdesivir, oxygen cylinders and ventilator beds in the hospitals due to mismanagement by authorities, yet the state government was only taking superficial steps to show they are acting against such crimes.

keeps crying about unavailability of ventilators. The truth is that Ranchi sadar hospital has 150 ventilators, but no technician to run them, while RIMS has technicians but lacks in ventilator. This is the level of management by the state government. Similar is the situation in other districts. Dozens of ventilator provided under the PM Cares Fund are gathering dust in other districts as well,” Prakash said.
